Now Showing: The Wendigo

The Wendigo is a haunting fantasy freely adapted from Algernon Blackwood’s novella which influenced
H. P. Lovecraft.
My adaptation begins in a university art gallery on Halloween in 1899. It switches back and forth between the storyteller and his nightmarish memories of an attack on his hunting party deep in the unexplored Canadian forest by a flying creature of the night, The Wendigo.
The thirty minute film uses live action, multi-media and AI images developed specifically for our show and are animated into fanciful montages. The film is supported by a full soundtrack and original music.
More than an eerie weird tale it also touches on the nature of art and how gateways to phantom worlds might make miracles happen.

Suggested for adults, and children middle-school or older

Haunted Ireland

This 30-minute performance features two light-hearted, original stories written by Michael:
"Haunted Ireland" and "Uncle Gus Comes Through."
It also includes the songs "Ramblin' Rover" (a duet with Michael and his son, Sean),
"Donal Aboo", and "Red is the Rose."

Songs Sung & Recorded by Michael:

These are songs I performed recently with a mysterious guitarist. My friend and I shared the recording and editing. I sing and play harmonicas, button accordion, concertina, melodeon and the bowed psaltery. Songs are covers by The Eagles. U2, Bob Seeger, The Grateful Dead, Bob Dylan, Jimmy Buffet and The Ozark Mountain Daredevils.

Stories on both switch from outrageous comedy to dramatic autobiographical tales.

Michael's Award Winning Book & CD
Into the Magic

Irish Wonder Tales and Stories about Celtic Myth, Legend, Folklore and the Irish-American experience. Told with passion and imagination in a bold theatrical style.
Enter the enchanting worlds of warriors, banshees, bards, heroines, leprechauns, ghosts, mermaids, druids and more. Classic mythic characters such as Cuchulain, Finn and Oisin live again in their marvelous romantic worlds of splendor. Their nobility and chivalry are contrasted with stories of the humorous doings in Shamrock Cove, an imaginary nineteenth century village full of colorful comic folks.

The CD is a collection of myths, legends and autobiographical stories about the Irish-American immigrant experience, these stories are told in "radio theatre" style, performed by six professional actors and musicians.
~ Each story has sound effects, background music and instrumentation
~ Musical selections include guitar, accordion, fiddle, concertina, piano, bodhran (drum), and harmonica.
~ 8 stories, 2 songs
~ A perfect complement to the book, "Into the Magic"
~ Enchantment for the whole family
